Vikram Surya Chiruvolu, MA, LGPC, BSCS, is a psychotherapist and computer scientist. As the Founder and CEO of Technotherapy, he brings a unique skillset and experience to patient care.  He is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (#LGPC00533) in Washington DC, and he holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Vikram's passion for counseling comes from his own experience. A gifted student, he graduated high school when he was 16 years old. His affinity for counseling showed up at an early age when he became a peer counselor in high school. Shortly after entering college, he came face to face with his own addiction, yet despite his best efforts, he could not outsmart it.  He sought a career in the first dotcom boom of the late 90s, working as a programmer and leader at a number of tech startups in New York. When the dotcom bust of 2001 hit, followed by 9/11, he became deeply depressed. A natural fighter, he told himself that he would give life one more shot as his depression became increasingly severe. He entered recovery at the age of 25, and his passion for technology and innovation took on a whole new meaning. In 2004, Vikram earned a BS in Computer Science from Rutgers University and became a proud alumnus of its Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP), which has become a leading international model for CRPs.

In the years since, Vikram has lived in Washington DC and served in technology and management roles in political advocacy (Grassroots Campaigns), high tech (RedHat), government (the US Peace Corps), nonprofit (Society for Science), and academia (Georgetown). He also has been a committed member of DC recovery community, serving on the boards of a number of Recovery Community Organizations, and as an active supporter, mentor, and guide to others in their journeys of recovery. Since 2013, Vikram returned to his counseling roots and has focused on developing into an expert psychotherapist, while bringing his Computer Science background to evolving a new paradigm of addiction recovery care.

Vikram is as passionate about helping people create the positive changes and transformation they seek, as he is about helping other clinicians do the same with their clients. As we all navigate and take advantage of the extraordinary opportunities afforded by the Information Age, Vikram created Technotherapy to provide support and leadership to our individual and collective efforts at health, well-being, and positive transformation.
